Guys like O'Reilly don't grow on trees. When you get them either through drafting or via trade, you hold on to them and value them. You don't give them away.
If this is the case why do you want him traded so badly?
Pretty sure there's cheaper options out there for other teams than paying "the best faceoff man in the NHL from 2017-18" $7.5 mill for 6 more seasons that has only played in 13 career playoff games in a 9-year career.
He wore out his welcome in Colorado and apparently has done so in Buffalo too ..... according to GMJE.

Garth,
Not a bad article at all. I am on the fence regarding ROR. face offs are not a sexy stat but they do lead to puck possession and hopefully more scoring chances. 61 points is not that bad production either. hell he is within 10 points of Nick Backstrom, Josh bailey, Patrick Laine & Leon Draisitl. Now before everyone gets excited, I am not really comparing ROR to those players. All I am trying to say is his production is in the same area code. Hopefully they keep him and surround him with better wingers, if they decide to trade him I hope they get a treasure trove of assets in return (sorry could not resist) |

ROR hates losing, well he should be used to it by now. He's a loser was one in Colorado (one playoff season) and he brought that here to Bflo. His attitude of i have to be better is old. He not a leader, and he should be shipped out. He was brought here to change the culture and he's the one bringing in the losing mentality. WAKE up GARTH...your a LOSER like he is |

ROR will be traded if the right deal comes along. JB will be making changes to the core of this team. You cannot change this team by trading anyone other than the core. |

Since Ottawa is keeping their First Round pick this year if they win the Lotto next year Jack Hughes will be going to Colorado and not Ottawa. I would be hesitant to tear it down this season since they plan to keep this year's pick. It will look AWFUL if Ottawa bottoms out next year, wins the Lotto, and then has to give the pick to Colorado. Talk about a punch to the gut! |

Garf what would it take to get Doug Wilson to buffalo as the GM? Bailey and baptist as starters? |

I think it's more accurate to say that he joined more losing, than brought it with him.
Same as Duchene in Ottawa.
More bad team luck, than anything. |

Agree 100%. ROR has a big ticket for a little big time. A third line centre on a good team. Market is very limited for a guy who wins face offs.
Yes ROR was a leader of Canada’s world championship tram this year. The same team that underperformed all tournament and came home empty handed. Coincidence? |
